Event Overview

Kotlin 15th Anniversary Meetup is a community event for Kotlin's 15th anniversary organized by Taiwan Kotlin User Group. It was held in Taipei on August 18, 2026. In addition to celebrating Kotlin's 15th anniversary, the event also included cross-platform development and community technical talks.

From iPlayground to Kotlin 15th Anniversary Meetup

I met JetBrains Developer Advocate Shengyou Fan at iPlayground 2026. After listening to my talk, he spoke with me and invited me to share my experience using Skip for cross-platform development at Kotlin 15th Anniversary Meetup.

We later met at COSCUP and further discussed the talk arrangements for Kotlin 15th Anniversary Meetup, confirming the content each of us would prepare and how the two talks would complement each other.

Talk Content

At the event, Shengyou Fan shared how to develop iOS and Android Apps through Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. My talk used Election Radar as a practical example to introduce how to use Skip with Swift to develop iOS and Android Apps.

Both talks focused on cross-platform App development, approaching it through Kotlin and Swift respectively and allowing attendees to learn about two different paths for cross-platform development at the same event.
